1. 3/3/11 Bell Ringer Journal
  • In Google Docs, Click on "3/3/11 Bell Ringer Journal"
  • From there, click on the drop down menu and click "Create New" and "Document"
  • Give your document the appropriate heading in the upper left corner (I know before I said align-right, I was wrong):
    • Your Name
    • Course title (English 1C)
    • The teacher's name
    • Today's date
  • And MOST IMPORTANTLY, give your document the appropriate title: "Last Name First Name Assignment Name"
    • Prompt:
      • Finish these sentences, you have 6 minutes:
      • Adjectives are words that...
      • Action verbs are words that...
      • Linking verbs are words that...
      • Pronouns are words that...
      • Nouns are words that...
  • Pair-share responses.

2. Again, Study and Quiz Yourself on the Vocabulary words on page 24 (like you did Tuesday)
  • Go to our vocabulary page to find the Quizlet.

3. 3/3/11 After you Read: "The Washwoman" page 33
  • In your notebook, answer all parts of questions 1 and 2 (use your page 19 work from the Reader's Notebook to help you)
  • You may work in pairs or small groups.
  • Be sure to write all your answers in complete sentences.

4. 3/3/11 Vocabulary page 33
  • In your notebook, re-write all the sentences replacing the underlined word with a vocabulary word from page 24.

5. Introduce Grammar Homework, pages 29-32 of the Grammar Book.
  • Adjectives vs. Adverbs.
  • If time permits, students may begin your grammar homework.

Whatever isn't finished in class becomes homework.
