1. 2/28/11 Bell Ringer Journal
  • In Google Docs, Click on "2/28/11 Bell Ringer Journal"
  • From there, click on the drop down menu and click "Create New" and "Document"
  • Give your document the appropriate heading in the upper right corner (use the align right button):
    • Your Name
    • Course title (English 1C)
    • The teacher's name
    • Today's date
  • And MOST IMPORTANTLY, give your document the appropriate title: "Last Name First Name Assignment Name"
    • Prompt:
      • Think of a character (from a story you have read or a movie you have seen) who was not truthful; not honest. How did you know that the character was not truthful? What did the character do or say that was not truthful? As you write your paragraph (at least 100 words) be sure to give examples of what the character did/said that was not truthful.
  • Pair-share responses.

2. Study and Quiz Yourself on the Vocabulary words on page 24.
  • Go to our vocabulary page to find the Quizlet.

3. 2/28/11 Critical Thinking page 32
  • In your notebook, answer all parts of questions 1, 2, and 3.
  • You may work in pairs or small groups.
  • Be sure to write all your answers in complete sentences.

4. After You Read "The Washwoman", page 19 of the Reader's Notebook
  • You may work in pairs or small groups.
  • Be sure to write all your answers in complete sentences.

5. Introduce Grammar Homework, pages 21-24 of the Grammar Book.
  • Adjectives as modifiers.
  • Nouns can be used as adjectives (i.e., ring finger).
  • If time permits, students may begin your grammar homework.

Whatever isn't finished in class becomes homework.
