  • Set up your Cornell notes with these questions:
    • What is propaganda?
    • How does propaganda reach people?
    • What is "this tube"?
    • What does he mean when he says "this tube can make or break Presidents, Popes, Prime Ministers"?
    • Why is this man so angry?
    • According to this man, what % of people read books? read newspapers?
    • Where does this man say you will find truth?
    • The man says, "you do whatever the tube tells you". What does that mean?
    • What does the man want everyone to do? Why?

4. Reading "The News"
  • Creating an argument support pyramid.
  • Draw a triangle/pyramid on your paper.
  • Write the author's argument/main point at the pinnacle.
  • Add quotations that support that argument below, so that it supports what is at the top.
